I love this time of year! The weather is perfect & warming up. They days stay brighter longer & it is conference season! This weekend is my first conference of the season and I am heading to Ottawa to attend my first Canadian Celiac Association National Conference.
Diagnosed 4 years ago i am very passionate about raising awareness about celiac disease, the gluten free diet and the safety of food so I am very excited to be able to attend the national conference for the first time.
The conference will cover some important issues and I am excited to learn more about the future of therapies for celiac disease, the pediatric impact and labeling laws. Im kinda crazy about Canadian labeling laws (*sorry to come about this soon) so the more I can learn about it the happier I will be.
It is also going to be nice to get away from the kids and the chaos for the weekend. Very rare that I am ever away from them {gosh, i think the last time was August last year for BlogHer’10} so it will be a bit of an adjustment but I’m sure i will find it more awesome & wont think about it too much once i am there.
I want to give a shout out to Kinnikinnick Foods who are generously sponsoring me to attend the conference. An amazing company that i am proud to represent and thrilled & grateful for all the support they have given me.
I will be live tweeting from the event so if you are interested in the quick tidbits and photos I am going to share – follow the hashtag #CCANC on Twitter & Facebook page.
I will also be writing a follow up post next week with a recap of all the info and fun times that were had. If you are heading to to conference I hope we get the chance to meet up! I am looking forward to visiting the vendors and connecting with brands and people as passionate about celiac disease awareness as I am.
Just look for the blonde girl tweeting with her awesome new iphone case and hopefully not too under/over dressed.
