Tantrums and Tenacity: Where Did My Happy Kid Go?

June 23, 2011

same day payday loans

This week I have been almost ready to pull out my hair. True to my blog title I really am Accustomed to the Chaos but this past week my youngest has been testing. my. patience.  & nearly winning.

Babe E is known for being a happy, giggly & easy to get along with kind of lady. Perhaps what she is going through is what we call the ‘terrible twos‘?

Or I am just getting the revenge of Karma and my Mommy is laughing at me on the other end of the phone when I rant to her about Babe E’s latest Diva-moment because i was the exact same way at that age?

Who knows?

All I know is I have not been getting a lot of kisses and cuddles from this babe lately.  I am however getting a lot of this:

"Sass Face"

& this:

Kicking Feet Tantrums

I am hearing a whole lot of “NO” {but to her defense she is actually yelling “No Thank You” at the top of her lungs} and seeing a whole lot of things being thrown.

You would think that this being my third child I would know if this is par for the course and a short lived phase (please tell me it is). But either the older two never did this or i was way sleep deprived with both of them having them close in age that i was in a need-to-be-sleeping stupor and the whole phase was oblivious to me.

This time next week my hair might be totally grey

… if i haven’t pulled it all out by then

Sounds exactly like my toddler!

He’s been saying no a lot. Sometimes in frustration and anger – at me mostly, for not allowing him to do certain things (you know, like trying to pull the TV down). He acts out by biting (sometimes) and hitting. And it breaks my heart because he really is a cheerful child, 90% of the time. He doesn’t understand time out, he just thinks I’m being mean. Sigh. When you find a workable solution to contain this problem, please let me know!

BooBoo has been in this phase for a solid year and a half. I wish I was joking. I believe (because I have to) that he’ll find his way. Maturity will get the better of him…won’t it?
