Oh man has this been a week… First I guess if you noticed I have stopped posting daily. I was participating in the BlogHer NaBloPoMo and was doing pretty good making sure I posted something every day – even on the weekends. Then … life happened and the house (miraculously minus me) got struck down with the stomach flu. Mommy duties took over and I spent the time balancing my freelance work and cleaning puke.
I lead a glamorous life.
Something I realized while attempting the NaBloPoMo challenge is that I don’t do good with the ‘you have to write for the sake of it’ thing. It’s hard for me to come up with something to say just because I have to post to a schedule. I, apparently do not work in that way when it comes to Accustomed Chaos.
I wish I could say everyone is better today. Big P and Babe E are doing a lot better today. Slowly starting to eat again. Princess R is still refusing to eat anything – even her most favourite thing ever, peanut butter. I’m trying to make sure she is at least staying hydrated but I’m starting to get worried about her though. Husband is also still really sick – he hasn’t eaten much in a few days & I haven’t seen him sick in a long time. I have yet to be sick – I don’t think I will be getting sick. Totally thankful for that because this flu – does NOT look fun. It’s gross enough taking care of everyone.
:: Anyone have any parenting advice on how to encourage the kids to start eating again? Is it better to let them decide when they’re hungry enough to eat or should I be doing something more? ::

Oh dear O.o
That definitely DOESN’T sound fun-I really hope that you’re spared with this one. Seriously, isn’t enough for a mom to take care of sick people, instead of taking care of them and then getting sick on top of it!? Lol
Good luck!

I hope everyone will feel much better soon. I’d say kids will eat when hey are hungry but if you are concerned, I’d check with the doctor. If your other two are eating now, then recovery must be just around the corner.
I did 30-days of posting every day a couple of months ago and I found it easier to come up with ideas for blog posts than if posting just a few times a week. Not because of lack of ideas, but then I spend huge amounts of time wondering which idea I should go for. When I was posting every day I had no time for that, I had to grap one idea and go with it, or I’d never have made it. it didn;t leave me with much time for anything else though, that’s why I gave up on the posting daily thing.

I found that too – that i was posting what I wanted to instead of overthinking things – which i do all the time. I have other freelance writing i have to do daily as well as UnspokenGrief to look after and i felt (on top of life going crazy there) that there was too much pressure for no hugely obvious reason to.

I’ve been finding it hard too – and if my kid were puking I’d definitely let NaBloPoMo fall by the wayside! And I only have the one kid to take care of!

It’s been a challenge. On top of writing here ive got three freelance jobs and UnspokenGrief.com to care for as well – this is my space that is to be a low pressure, for the need of writing & it all because a lot… especially with the stomach flu.
