San Diego. Diego Diego. Same Thing, Right?

August 17, 2011

About 2 weeks ago I went on my first ever solo trip. I boarded the plane and flew for only the second time in my life and arrived in gorgeous San Diego.  I was starting a 3 night 4 day vacation away from my children – being that I am rarely ever away from the kids for even 2 hours – this felt like it was going to be forever.

I set up a few Skype dates with my kids – to check in and they can see that i am still around (& yes, i did kinda miss their faces) and the first night before their bedtime i called in.  My three kids – Big P, Princess R & Babe E were all there in their cute glory & they all started talking about their day.

Let me take it back for a moment and share a fact for you all.

Babe E has a boyfriend. He has been around for quite some time and she is convinced they will be married one day.

Diego Meet Diego – Babe E’s other half. The love of her life.  These two are always together and clearly in love.  I am not really sure how this love connection started but once it did – about 5 months ago – she is smitten.

Anyway – back to the Skype conversation a few weeks ago. The kids started to tell me about their day – the fun times they had with Daddy. That they cleaned up the house and played fun games of Daddy Says.  Big P asks me again where i am at.

I’m in San Diego for a few days. I will be back soon.” I say to the kids.

As soon as that comes out of my mouth i hear a huge squeal from Babe E.

YOU ARE WITH DIEGO. DIEGO?!” shouted huge excitement comes out of her mouth in her tiny sweet voice.

{How badly i wish Diego was actually in San Diego so I could have returned with a token from her boyfriend…}
