Review: Baby Ddrops & Kids Ddrops + Giveaway(closed)

October 1, 2010

As a breastfeeding mother in Canada Health Canada recommends that all healthy full term infants receive a daily supplement of 400IU of Vitamin D for up to one year. After that children would receive their daily dosage amount consuming 2 cups of cows milk or fortified soy beverage. Since we are a casein free household & our kids can’t tolerate soy either – we needed a supplement for their vitamin D as well.
Over the past 4.5 years of motherhood I have tested out a few different methods for vitamins for my children. I was given the opportunity to try out both the KidsDdrops and BabyDdrops and I was interested  to see if these would stop the daily vitamin struggle I have with my kids.
Ddrops is a 100% Canadian owned company with a mission to spread a little sunshine one drop at a time. Committed to the highest quality and standards each product has received Natural Health Product Numbers (NPNs) from Health Canada.

Ddrops are tasteless, odorless with no artificial flavours or sugar. They are gluten free, casein free, peanut free & soya free.  It requires no preservatives and has a long shelf life without refrigeration.

Like I said giving my kids vitamins for the past 4 years has been difficult. I have used the liquid drops when they were infants & for Baby E – the syrupy, red, sugared, flavored vitamins the would drool out of her mouth and stain her clothes.  I hated giving those.

Baby Ddrops:
I fell.in.love with these vitamins. They are SO different the the liquid vitamins I was using before.  A whole different world really.  These drops are specifically designed to support breastfeeding babies because they are free from any preservatives, sugars, artificial anything and the HUGE bonus — you just place the drop on your nipple prior to latching your breastfeeding baby.  As long as they have latched for at least 30 seconds that is all you need to do – once a day.  Since it is colourless, tasteless and odorless the baby doesn’t even know it’s there so there is no risk of babe rejecting.

Kids Ddrops:
My kids are picky about food. Since we are on a diet that does not contain a lot of dairy or soy I like to give them a vitamin to make sure they are getting their vitamin D. I have tried the other liquid vitamins and even those super sugary chewable vitamins. They will not take them. It is such a hassle.  UNTIL Kids Ddrops.  Just 1 drop gives the kids their Vitamin D requirement for the day. Since the drops are odorless and colourless I can drop them into their glass of water or they can lick it off the back of their clean hand. Simple.

I can not imagine switching back to another vitamin brand – these are amazing and easy and hassle free!

These will come in handy when I will be breast feeding in a couple months. The last ones I used smelled horrible so I bet they tasted horrible too. Thanks!

Like you my child has dietary restrictions, so a good supplement is something I really should start using!
