Product Review: Motherlove Nipple Cream

September 28, 2010

I have been nursing Baby E now for almost 20 months and after the initial 6 weeks learning phase we have been having no real troubles.

Those first 6 weeks were very painful though. Cracked nipples, bleeding nipples, engorgement that made it near impossible to latch and of course the whole casein intolerant thing we had to work out.

Babe E is teething now – getting her molars and she has not really been herself. She has been a little rough with the nursing lately and when she seems to be in a lot of teething pain, she bites… chomps hard. Also, I nurse her to sleep at night and if I don’t break the latch before she is right out – she will chomp down, hard.

Enter in  Motherlove Nipple Cream:

Motherlove Nipple Cream is a softening salve for sore, cracked nursing nipples that quickly heals skin and relieves discomfort. Exactly what I needed now that Baby E was teething and biting (it doenst happen too often but when it does, it hurts).
This nipple cream is certified organic, free from lanolin, vitamin E, gluten, dairy, nuts or pesticides.  It does NOT need to be wiped or washed off before baby latches because it is safe for ingestion.
I LOVED this product. Loved.  The cream is light weight and did not stain my clothing. There is no smell or taste so Baby E didn’t even notice it was on when she was breastfeeding.  It soothed my sore nipples very quickly and I put some on before nursing Baby E to sleep to help prevent any more nipple pain.  Having this product gluten and casein free is so important and something that might be overlooked.  Since I have Celiac Disease and Baby E has a casein intolerance this product is perfect for avoiding those issues as well.
