Mind Has Been Blown by the Awesome of This Week

September 18, 2011

Last week was a really busy and fun-filled week. Lots going on over in the AC household and around the interwebs.

Princess R started school last week – can you believe it? I can’t.  Since she is just starting junior kindergarten they do a half day first to get to know their teacher a bit and meet with their senior kindergarten helper. She was gone for 2.5hours and came home thrilled! When I asked her how she liked school her exact quote was

“School was so beautiful mom. So beautiful i can’t even tell”

You can’t get any better then that right! [It helps that her older brother is in the same classroom as a senior kindergarten-er so she has a very familiar face]  She goes back on tuesday into her full schedule. She will be taking the bus for the first time & staying the entire day.  Fingers crossed she still loves it!

This past week I read a lot of blog posts, articles, laughed over funny pictures and to-die-for recipes and I want to share four of them with you from the past week that piqued my interest – all for different reasons.

Shame And The Mom:

This post became very popular last week and if you haven’t read it – go give it a read. The comments are also very interesting – lots of ideas being brought up and questions being asked. There are a few links within the post and in the comments and if you have those posts are also worth the read.

A Musical Life

If you only have time to read one post from last week please go read this one by Jessica. It took my breath away. I can relate so much with her beautiful words about life after loss. Grab some tissue before reading.

Good In Their Name

Good In Their Name

I had the honor this week of being named an Inspirational Mom by Good In Their Name. Please show your support of this amazing project and visit the site and their facebook page.

If you missed my announcement last week I have been brought on as a new writer for Babble’s Being Pregnant blog! You can read more about what topics i will be covering there & why exactly Im writing for a pregnancy blog in my introductory post. I just started a few days ago and i am already learning so much – things i never thought i would be researching and writing about like reasons why eating your placenta can be good for your health – who knew, right?

You can also find me this week over at celiac-disease.com where i address my concerns for Princess R starting school and what that means in terms of her having celiac disease and being safe. If you have any advice – I could use it!

Oh! & I ate a to-die-for gluten free, dairy free, soy free and egg free cinnamon roll.

I love that “school was beautiful” quote. It truly is perfect!

And congrats on writing for Babble – that has to be rewarding.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m craving a cinnamon bun.
