Accidently ingesting gluten when you have celiac disease is unfortunately likely bound to happen at one point or another. Whether through cross contamination, not reading the labels right or a well-meaning friend or family member ensuring you it’s safe, getting ‘glutene-ed’ [as we all call it] is no walk in the park.
What do you do now that you’ve been gluten-ed?
There really is no standard care of how to treat yourself. There are many who swear by using pre/pro-biotics or special vitamins that claim to flush out your system. There are others who claim special smoothies or mixtures will do the same. My opinion on all that is it’s just a money-grab {if it’s a product someone is touting} and there is no special mix that can really ‘flush your system’ quicker.
So, what do you do? Drink a lot of water — stay hydrated. Eat foods gentle on the stomach. Stay away from dairy products and highly processed foods. Try to figure out the source of your attack and rest as much as you can.

We eliminate hard to process foods like dairy & meat. I drink sports drinks to help with migraines.

Great post, I have had a few people talk to me about being “glutenized” and how horrible their experiences are when it happens in a restaurant.
I know there is not much you can do, but still good to see some tips on how to ease the pain.
