The hustle of everyday can wear me down. The same routine day after day. The mundane every day-ness that is both the heart and the stress of every day life. With no breaks and not yet learning to put myself on any priority list there are times were I can feel very weighed down.
Changing up the routine to bring some ‘umph’ back into it can be challenging. With three kids who love and need routine and not a whole lot of play around time to get all we need to get accomplished it can be hard to find space to spruce things up.
This month I was caught off guard by a change in routine. Fourteen days into the month and I am still not yet used to this change. It really doesn’t effect me – or the rest of the family except it causes massive giggles.
Like full-on snort-like-a-pig giggle fits.
My husband is participating in Movember – grow your mustache for prostate cancer awareness. This person who I have known for 12 years – yet have never known to be able to grow any facial hair – has not shaved in 14 days.
& every time I look at him – I laugh. He looks like one of those typical small town sheriffs or a small town chief of police. He does not look like my husband and it’s funny how facial hair can do that (reminds me, must book myself an eyebrow wax) – change a whole face.
This small, simple change in my husband’s routine has brought a lot of laughter into this month. Yes, most of that is me laughing at him – but he is laughing with me. The sounds of giggles has been a very welcome routine change in our marriage.

I tried to convince my bald (by choice) husband to participate in Movember and not shave his entire face or head…. it lasted two days.

Oh – that could have been a fun month to giggle. My husband wont shave off the stash … but he is already complaining at it – 14 days in. hehe

I love when giggles fill the room at my house. I wish I could take the baby’s giggles especially and bottle them for a rainy day.
I think you should post pictures of the stash!

I should take a picture & share the giggles. You are SO SO right – how amazing would that be if we could bottle those baby and toddler giggles.. sigh

So nice to laugh more isn’t it. I read an article that said we should aim to make our kids belly laugh once a day and it really does chance the way you look at the day. There isn’t much better than the sound of giggles.
