I consider myself a pretty happy-go-round person and I don’t really dwell on the negative or worry too much about things that don’t really effect me. However, there are some times a lady can only handle so much!
I am going to go ahead and blame social media for my current inability to handle things that don’t seem significant in the long run. With everyone having access to tell the world everything and anything at any moment, certain ‘common’ things people seem to do becomes even more evident. I’m going to guess it’s the over-exposure of certain behaviour and the ability to do it so easily that makes it seem (I hope) more common than they really are, but I kind of worry.
I know there are things that I do that annoy people, probably even far enough to warrant a bullet point on their own list like this, but I have near hit the boiling point of some “tiny” annoyances and I could totally live way happier if they became less common!
1) FML everything!
“Oh, I cut my toenail too short… FML“
The drama that follows such a simple thing will always make me roll my eyes. The ‘FML’ should be reserved for the real things that make you feel your life is f*cked.
2) Judge the ‘judgers’ before they judge
“The ‘sanctimommies‘ are going to have a field day with what am letting my kids do”
Name-calling someone you think is going to question you = no better.
3) Parents who post photos of their kids covered in poop
“OMGee, look what Billy just did. He’s covered in his own poop” … as I post for the entire world to see
Dude, it’s gross. Clean your kid up because 1) it’s gross 2) NO ONE wants to see it, promise 3) everything lives on the internet
4) Complaints about how ‘fat’ they are when they are not even close
“I look like a total cow” … as I stand here in my size 6 jeans
I am guilty of some self-hate coming out in the world, but I try to be careful about how often I say it. Some people, while I understand some people may be dealing with a body dysmorphic issue, some people say it to get a compliment & that’s just annoying.
5) Making up facts to support some obnoxious idea
“95-98% of people do [blank] for the wrong reason.”
Unless you have a source to back up your fact, it just makes you look stupid and your point moot.
6) People stealing copyrights & fighting it even though they are wrong
“Well, it was on Google Images so I am able to use it however I want.”
I had this happen to me over 6 times a few weeks ago — over 2 images that I created and own copyright to. A few people contacted to remove did so kindly, but the majority fought me over it and even claimed that I was the one at fault. Ignorance is no excuse for being an as$!

Oh my, the FML thing drives me batty. I’ve never said it and never will. It’s lame, and 99.9% it is said over something silly “the barista messed up my coffee, FML”. No, you’re life is not effed because of a mistake with your coffee.
The poop thing is gross for sure, I saw someone post that they caught a baby’s poop in the toilet and posted a picture of it, WHY? We believe you, without the picture.
I guess a pet peeve of mine is over dramatic people in general.
Great list, I nodded in agreement the whole way through.

Yeah, I really don’t get the need to share EVERY detail of life with people. I get it to a point, obvs cause I am a blogger — but there are some things that are not for the public…. like your kid covered in poop

Great list — and I agree with each of them . . . people who steal content on the internet (be it the written word or artwork) without attributing it properly deserve a special kind of pain. And I wish I were someone who wouldn’t ever say “I look horrible…” but, I do say it. Though, to be honest, I get really uncomfortable when people give me compliments, and I can assure you that I’m never fishing.
And, I kind of wish I didn’t get a perverse joy whenever someone who claims FML for every little thing in their life has something really, truly go wrong.
However, if there was something that I could really, really stand to never see on the internet again, it would be the coded message — the message obviously for someone, but never saying to whom, or what the actual message is, just leaving it all open for interpretation.
Gah, that drives me batty.

I am so bad at receiving compliments too! It’s on my “must work on” list for this year.
YES, those coded, passive aggressive messages really are awful!
I’ve never got the FML thing. I mean is your life that bad that you have to end so many sentences with that? I suppose that it could be but if they were a bit more positive maybe they wouldn’t have to use that so often.

I don’t mind that people need to vent and sometimes it can be “comforting” to see someone who is dealing with similar stuff, you know. But you’re right — when someone makes a big “FML” deal out of something that really, isn’t that bad (like cutting your toe nail too short) — they really could use some positivity in their lives.
When it comes to what people post on Facebook or Twitter, I would definitely say my biggest pet peeve is when people complain or whine over private details of their life.
“My MIL is sooooo annoying!”
“We are so in debt we can’t afford (Fill in the blank)!”
“I hate my job/coworker/boss/etc!”
“My husband is such a jerk, I may leave him tonight for Channing Tatum”
Facebook is not a therapist, people! Plus, these comments only make yourself look bad. These problems require you speaking to the actual person in private, not posted for everyone to see on the Internet!

It makes me wonder what people who vent constantly on FB did before Facebook?!
